Duties, Taxes & Tariffs – International Orders
Dancewear For You is an Australian-based business shipping worldwide. Customs requirements and charges vary by destination. Please review the information below before placing an international order.
United States Orders 🇺🇸
For orders shipped to the United States, estimated import duties and import taxes are calculated and collected at checkout.
Dancewear For You uses a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping service, currently arranged through Zonos and Australia Post, to prepay the applicable charges before dispatch.
How charges are calculated
Checkout estimates are based on information including:
- Order value
- Product classification and HS tariff code
- Country of origin
- Shipping destination
- Applicable US customs and tariff rules
Customs rules and tariff rates can change. If there is a significant difference between the estimated amount collected at checkout and the amount required before dispatch, we may contact you before shipping.
DDP shipping is intended to prevent further payment on delivery. However, customs authorities or the carrier may request additional information or assess extra charges in exceptional circumstances outside our control.
All Other International Orders 🌍
Orders shipped outside Australia and the United States are normally sent DAP (Delivered At Place), previously known as DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid).
Import duties, VAT, GST, customs fees, tariffs and carrier handling charges are not collected at checkout unless expressly shown on your order or required by applicable law. Any charges imposed by the destination country are the recipient’s responsibility and are payable directly to the local customs authority or carrier.
Please check your country’s import rules and thresholds before ordering. By placing an international order, you acknowledge responsibility for applicable destination charges.
Important information
- Orders may be delayed, refused, abandoned or returned if destination charges aren’t paid.
- Except where required by applicable consumer law, Dancewear For You does not reimburse destination duties, taxes, customs fees or carrier charges.
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable when a parcel is refused or returned because destination charges weren’t paid.
- Customs clearance decisions, delays and additional assessments are controlled by the destination country’s customs authority or carrier.
